A woman friend of mine, a much younger woman friend of mine, said to me recently, “Women are complicated, that’s why you don’t have one.” I am going to take that sentence to my grave. I laugh every time I think of it. We’re all complicated but I do find women particularly mysterious and intriguing.  

It’s not just the geometry of their bodies but their capacity to be sensual with little more than an expression or a stance - a suggested invitation to intimacy.  

I think that’s why most of my photographs of women are more suggestive than descriptive.
